Authentic food products used by Koreans in everyday nutrition, such as seafood, spices and snacks, will be available on the Serbian market within the Mercator hypermarket today. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – KOTRA, in cooperation with Merkator and Spices of the World, presented Korean food products to the citizens of Serbia.
Ji-von Sol, another secretary of the embassy in charge of culture and economic affairs, pointed out that South Korea first presented food products imported to the Serbian market: “I am pleased that we managed to bring the two countries closer together by organizing an event in which the Korean food products. Today, citizens of Serbia will be able to procure products that the Koreans use daily in their diet. ”
Visitors of the “Tastes of Korea” event, which marked the arrival of Korean food products on the Serbian market, had the opportunity to try different meals prepared from these foods. They tried bibimbap – a mixture of cooked white rice, vegetables, beef, garnirunga and gocujanga, one of the most famous sauces in Korean cuisine, and a traditional Korean dish of gimbap, served by Koreans most often for lunch and snacks, was also served.
Ji-von Sol explained that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is doing everything to meet the citizens of Serbia with Korean food and culture, which is one of the most important reasons why an event was organized on which visitors had the opportunity to taste the food unusual for this region. During the event, traditional Korean dishes were prepared by Miss Dina Kim, the chief of kitchen in the Korean Embassy in Belgrade.
