Panel no. 1
Traditional “Book Talk” panel of regional book publishers
Since 2015, every year we have been talking to book publishers from all over the region about topics that plague their industry: from the role of the countries in which they operate and technological changes brought about by the general digitization and change in the consumer expectations of generations born after 2000, through the impact of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, to the consequences of inflation and the drastic increase in the price of paper and printing in the past two years.

Are our shadows still wandering around Vienna and scaring the gentlemen or are the gentlemen now scaring us: 130 years since the birth of Gavrilo Princip and 110 years since the beginning of the Great War:
What has been said and written in the past 10 years about the Great War, its causes and consequences. Did we learn something, to begin with, that the verses from the title, which are attributed to Gavril Princip on dozens of murals created in the past decade on walls throughout Serbia and Republika Srpska, were written by Marko Perin back in 1914. Then everything else…

Beliefs, conspiracies… and oblivion: A century since the birth of Alexander Tishma
Have we forgotten, according to many, the greatest Novi Sad writer of the 20th century. Apart from the plaque on Tanurdžić’s palace and the short street on Podbara – what else in Novi Sad reminds us of him? 9 years ago Matica srpska proposed that Trg republike kome should be named after him in the end, the name was not changed, but as befits a republic – it got a monument – to the king. What would Tishma say to the people of Novi Sad today?
Panel no. 4
Good evening, Mr. Orwell:
40 years since 1984 At the end of 1983, Radiotelevision Belgrade broadcast a special edition of the show “Fridays at 10 p.m.” dedicated to Orwell’s novel “1984” under the title “Good evening, Mr. Orwell”. In it, a scene from the novel was dramatized, the character of Winston Smith was interpreted by Petar Kralj and Parsons by Slobodan Aligrudić. On January 24, 1984, the company “Apple” broadcasted for the first time a commercial announcing the new computer “Macintosh”, in which it was said: “You will see why 1984 will not be like ‘1984’”. Are we 40 years later entering an age in which “artificial intelligence” will write books as it has already begun to slowly replace translators and many other professions?
Panel no. 5
Not just in-laws and farmers: Vojvodina writers and Vojvodina as a literary theme in the 21st century
In Belgrade, as well as in the rest of the region, Vojvodina is generally seen romantically as the “land of in-laws and farms”, where “soup-sauce-meat” is eaten on Sundays and “schnenoklama” is sweetened. Who are the contemporary writers from Vojvodina and how do they deal with topics that are important for people in this region in the 21st century?
Panel no. 6
God, how this reminds me of something: Plagiarism in contemporary literature
The topic of intellectual property theft has entered our everyday speech and has become ubiquitous: from political discussions to academic debates to literary debates. How much plagiarism is present in our literature today and where is the line between “inspiration” and “homage” on the one hand and theft on the other
Panel no. 7
It’s not colder, but it can be bloodier: Balkans vs Scandinavia
Authors of crime stories from the territory of the former joint state about inspirations in politics, geography and history and the chances of imposing “Balkan noir” globally as the Scandinavians did
