The “Music of Hope” program, intended for children from marginalized groups, started the donor campaign “I support Music of Hope!”, in order to ensure the conditions for the continuation of the music program within the Elementary School “Branko Pešić” in Zemun during the 2024/25 school year
Citizens, companies and institutions are invited to, in accordance with their capabilities, support the regular and high-quality musical education of children at risk who, nurturing their talent, remain in the education system and, with the help of all of us, get a chance for a better future.
Famous artists participate in the campaign, including Nela Mihailović, Dragan Mićanović, Bojana Stefanović, Suzana Lukić, Miona Marković, Lea Davogić and others. “Music gives hope every day. It helps us to create something beautiful together and to face life’s challenges”, said Dragan Micanović, our prominent actor and supporter of the initiative.
The Music of Hope program aims to, through music, the most humane and most beautiful way of communication, empower children who face the daily challenges of living in poverty, and restore to them and their families faith in love, respect, regular education, equality – faith in life.
In Serbia, every tenth child lives in deep poverty, which means that as many as 122,000 children live with less than 12,495 dinars per month! Music can be a powerful tool for change. Through the “Music of Hope” program, children who are at constant risk of dropping out of the education system have the chance to develop their talents, learn important life skills and build their identity and their future.
During the previous school year, the program included 110 children and young people in the Zemun center who showed their work and results at as many as 22 performances, including the performance at the opening of this year’s EXIt festival on the main stage of the “Tesla Universe”.
