Belgrade will host one of the most prominent European events in the field of digital forensics and cyber security – the Digital Forensics Conference – on November 12-13, 2024, at the Sava Center
The conference will gather over 400 senior representatives from international and regional public institutions, industry leaders, and financial institutions for a comprehensive dialogue on preventing and combating cybercrime and sharing best practices in digital forensics and cyber security.
Renowned speakers, including experts who have worked or currently work for prominent global tech companies (such as OpenAI and Google DeepMind) and institutions (including FBI special agents and the University of Oxford), along with state prosecutors for high-tech crime and leading global experts in combating cybercrime and digital fraud from the private sector, will share insights on best practices in prevention, investigation, and regulatory compliance in this field.
Discussions will cover changes in the cyber threat landscape, the dual role of advanced technologies in both enabling and fighting cybercrime, as well as innovative approaches to digital forensics. The event is organized by the Digital Forensics Initiative Archibald.
“The goal of this conference is to provide businesses and organizations from the public and private sectors across the region with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively tackle cyber threats,” stated Stanoje Rnić, president of the Archibald Initiative.
“According to the Internet Organized Crime Threat Assessment (IOCTA 2024) published by Europol this year, ransomware groups are reorganizing and changing identities, significantly complicating tracking and investigations. Cybercriminals are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their attacks, while deepfake technologies are used to create false content, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), further complicating investigations. Additionally, the misuse of large language models (LLMs) is on the rise, particularly in the context of phishing attacks and cryptocurrency-related investment scams, presenting a new dimension of threats,” emphasized Rnić.
The fact that our agenda is tailored to the most pressing contemporary challenges in the industry has attracted global leaders, including those with experience from organizations such as OpenAI, as well as FBI special agents. We are confident that our conference will be a massive success, not only in our region but throughout Europe.
Building on the success of three editions of the Blockchain Forensics Forum, which attracted more than 300 participants from over 15 countries and hosted workshops led by FBI and HSI experts, this year’s event has evolved into the Digital Forensics Conference.
The program will cover a broader range of topics, including ransomware investigations, blockchain forensics, preventing the abuse of artificial intelligence and machine learning, fraud monitoring, and combating money laundering. Our initiative aims to strengthen capacity and expertise in cyber investigations and security to effectively confront the increasingly sophisticated strategies of cybercriminals.
The conference will gather key public sector stakeholders from Serbia and the wider region, including representatives from nearly all critical infrastructure institutions, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, judicial bodies, and prosecutors from not only Serbia but also other European countries.
Leading global and regional cybersecurity companies, banks, and financial institutions will also attend, further enhancing the reputation of the conference as a must-attend event for professionals in this field.
Registration for the conference is now open at www.digitalforensicsconf.com, with early bird pricing available until October 24. Don’t miss the chance to join Europe’s top experts in digital forensics and cyber security at this key event.
