Mercata, a leading distributor of consumer goods in the territory of Serbia, has signed an exclusive six-year contract on business cooperation with Japan Tobacco International’s (JTI), a member of the Japan Tobacco Group, one of the leading companies in the tobacco industry and Japan’s largest investor in Serbia.
This partnership further strengthens the position of Mercata domestic distribution market, both in the segment of tobacco products, as well as in the segment of consumer goods, and strengthen long-term cooperation, which is a confirmation of the quality and professionalism of the distribution network. At the same time, this agreement contributes to the future business development of JTI in Serbia. “During the first five months of 2017, Mercata achieved a growth of 10 percent in the tobacco segment and 14 percent in the FMCG segment, we made an important step forward compared to the previous year, and in the future we plan more intensively to strengthen its position “said Peter Jagodič, CEO of Mercata.
