US Ambassador to Belgrade H E Kyle Scott made a reception on the occasion of the US Independence Day, which was attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Government, representatives of public life and diplomatic corps.
Ambassador Scott said on the 4th of July, the American people celebrated the 241st anniversary of their independence. “Our independence was proclaimed by people who risked their lives in the fight for human dignity, for the right of the people to choose their own authority and for the idea that the government exists to serve the people, not the other way around” Scott said. Celebration of the 4th of July is not formal, but joyful, and people in the USA gather on that day with friends and family in a joint celebration. Scott thanked friends in Serbia who arrived at the US Embassy to mark this important date for the American people. Next to the president Vučić, there were Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Ministers Jadranka Joksimović, Aleksandar Vulin, Nenad Popović, Aleksandar Antić.
