An international scientific conference titled “The New Silk Road Initiative – the scope and challenges” was held in Belgrade, organized by the Institute for International Politics and Economy (IMPP), supported by the Institute for European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing and sponsored by the Ministry Education, science and technological development and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade.
The conference was opened by the Director of IMPP prof. Dr. Branislav Đorđević. The participants were greeted by prof. Dr. Vladimir Popović – State Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, prof. Žarko Obradović, PhD – Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, H.E. Li Manchang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Serbia and prof. Dr. Huang Ping – Director General of the Institute for European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing.
