The sixth generation of the most successful M sedan enters the scene in the shape of the new BMW M5, which is at the very top of the executive class. This model represents a unique combination of racing potential, the comfort of a luxury business sedan and a car that is delighted to ride every day.
The newly developed M xDrive debuted with the new BMW M5. This M-specific all-wheel drive system combines exceptional agility and precision, also known among other M models, with top-end adhesion in all conditions thanks to the four-wheel drive that allows torque distribution up to a ratio of 0: 100 to the benefit of the rear axle.
Like all M models, it proved to be the most challenging world race track Nürburgring Nordschleife. The power of its engine, through the new eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with the Drivelogic system, produces exceptional performance. The latest generation of the 4.4-liter V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology develops 441 kW/600 hp and has a torque of 750 Nm (combined fuel consumption: 10.5 l / 100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 241 g/km) . The various M xDrive modes (4WD, 4WD Sport, 2WD) raise the dynamism of driving the new BMW M5 to a whole new level.
The performance of the new model is more than impressive. It accelerates from 0-100 km / h for lightning 3.2 seconds, and 0-200 km/h arrives in just 11.1 seconds. The maximum speed electronically is limited to 250 km / h or, if desired, at 305 km/h.
Even with the M xDrive system, the new BMW M5 is lighter than its predecessor. This is achieved by elements such as the carbon roof (CFRP) and the exhaust system of minimum weight. The front of the new BMW M5 is completely redesigned. Large openings ensure that the engine, transmission and brakes are supplied with sufficient air volume while driving in traffic as well as on the racing track. The new BMW M5 is standard equipped with M brakes with blue colored brake pads. Even more efficient, the M-Carbon-ceramic brakes with golden-colored clashes are available as an option and deliver a weight saving of 23 kilograms.
The BMW M5 does not compromise even when the equipment is in question. It is standard equipped with leather interior and M seats for driver and front passenger, while new M multifunctional seats can be optionally ordered. In addition, all driving assistance systems as well as the standard 5 Series are available. The new BMW M5 is equipped with 19-inch high-gloss wheels with five double-spoke Orbit Gray colors. Optional wheels are available with 20 inches with seven double arms. The Marina Bay Blue Metallic shade is available exclusively for the new BMW M5, with a standard variety of colors including the matte colors that the manufacturer calls BMW Frozen.
In addition to the standard BMW M5, an exclusive First Edition edition will be produced in a limited number of 400 copies. All cars will be in Frozen Dark Red metallic color, with details in black color with high gloss, while each M5 First Edition will have a tile with a serial number, which will place it among the collection models of this cult model.
