Serbia has educated young people, ready to create a new digital world, of immeasurable importance for the Serbian economy and raising its competitiveness vis-à-vis other European economies, said Quentin Royer, General Manager of Delhaize Srbija at the Kopaonik Business Forum 2018.
“Serbia has a good basis for fast digital development, but the infrastructure, organization and human resources frameworks have to be further enhanced to enable the national economy to achieve long-term dynamic economic development. On the other hand, cooperation with local startup companies in the digital sector is a future and we are planning to invest in this segment” Royer said. According to him, the company “Delhaize Srbija” continuously invests much in the education and development of all its employees. “We have developed excellent internal education programs such as the Academy of Management and we work closely with high schools and faculties. A prestigious international human resources company has rewarded us for the best program for young talents created right here in Serbia” says Royer. He explained that there is a lack of certain profiles, such as butchers and bakers, but also new jobs for the future, such as data processing experts and digital experts. “We believe that the education system should recognize the needs of the business sector and what brings us a near future. We are ready to support the faculties and the Ministry of Education in this process” – Royer concluded.
