The USAID-funded Framework for Giving project, implemented by the Coalition for Giving, led by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, and the Philanthropy Development Council, headed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, marked the 2018 National Day of Giving – by launching a fundraising campaign for the Petnica Science Center.
Funds collected for Petnica will be used to purchase an innovative spectrometer, which easily and quickly identifies chemical substances and compounds in a sample and is used in biomedicine, geology, ecology, chemistry, archeology, and the arts. The spectrometer will be used at Petnica to help young talented individuals to innovate and develop their potentials.
The National Day of Giving, established on the initiative of the USAID-funded Framework for Giving project, the Serbian Philanthropy Forum and the Government’s Philanthropy Development Council, will be marked on October 9 – the birthday of the great Serbian innovator and philanthropist Mihajlo Pupin. The aim of establishing the National Day of Giving is to draw public attention to the importance of solidarity and philanthropy. Also, on this day, we will point out that responsible investment in strategic areas in our society is important for a better future for all citizens of Serbia.
