NOVASTON to participate in the panel on the growth of the construction industry in Serbia
Novaston’s CEO, Mia Zečević
At this year’s 27th Kopaonik Business Forum, which is going to take place March 1-4, with over 1,300 participants, Novaston’s CEO, Mia Zečević will take part in the panel about the growth of the construction industry in Serbia.
„Statistically speaking, Belgrade occupies a much lower position than the regional capitals when it comes to the business premises and logistics sector. We have already set out to develop in these segments and this will continue to be noticeable in the coming period, although the retail segment remains our primary focus,“ says Mia Zečević.
Generally speaking, all sectors (retail, office, logistics and residential) show significant improvement and growth. In the retail sector, we are expecting the opening of two large shopping centres – BW Gallery and Beo SC, which will bring Belgrade closer to other capitals in the region, as the retail space parameter per 1,000 people will reach approximately 300 square metres.
“Strong development remains crucial in the office space sector, especially in Novi Beograd. The construction of more than 10 important office buildings is currently underway, after which the percentage of unrented space will be increased from the current 4-5% to 6-9%. In 2020, the largest number of new buildings is expected to be built in the logistics sector, while the construction of the largest logistics centre in Serbia, by CTP Invest, is underway. The residential sector is constantly expanding too – the number of projects under construction, the supply, the demand and the price per square metre are all growing. Even old buildings have become increasingly popular while their price per square metre has grown too,“ said Mladen Mladenović, Senior Associate at Novaston Asset Management.
Apart from Novaston’s CEO, Mia Zečević, other panel participants include Robert Yahav, CEO of BIG CEE, Mustafa Keriba, Deputy CEO and Director of Asset Management & Investment Solutions, ADFG, and Pedja Petronijević, CEO of GTC, while Nebojša Nešovanović, Senior Director and Head of Valuation in SEE Region, CBRE, will be the panel moderator.
