Despite the state of emergency and the epidemic that has isolated us into our homes, Diplomacy & Commerce Magazine will continue to write and report on developments in the political, diplomatic, economic and cultural scene of Serbia and the region.
We will interview and record selected interviewees from the economics and diplomatic community as well as public life. To that end, we spoke with Jelena Zlatanović from MOL Serbia, about their activities during pandemic and emergency state, her private activities and as well as what she will do first after cancellation of the state of emergency.
How did you organize your business activities?
MOL Serbia takes care of the safety of its employees and consumers. Since the first case of coronavirus, our team in Serbia has actively worked to bring the best preventative measures and to minimize the possibility of spreading this virus among employees. The company has introduced the working from home concept even before the Government of Serbia made a recommendation for self-isolation for prevention. Business in such circumstances is challenging but we have organized our business activities so that everything is completed on time. I start the day with meetings with my colleagues through online communication platforms. I try to talk to colleagues from different sectors during the day, as well as to “see” some of them through some of the applications that make it possible. Due to the nature of the business, it happens that I’m preoccupied with phone calls and emails during the whole day, but it’s not uncommon that my son attends online meetings. He is thrilled to be working with his mom and helping her ?.
How do you spend your private time during this pandemic?
I think organization is extremely important, both in business and in private life. It maintains balance and makes the time passes faster and more useful. It also keeps us from losing our daily routines. What i enjoy the most is spending time with my four-year-old son Pavle. Every day we have different activities such as drawing, chopping, gluing, playing in different scenarios. However, sometimes he has his plans for play, so we make a deal. I made a grocery shopping schedule so that once a week I would buy whatever I need how could we be at home as much as we can. I respect all preventative protection measures so every time I leave the house, I put on a mask and gloves. I disinfect all doorknobs and flat surfaces and shoes when I return. This is also important to me because of my mom who is a risk group and is currently staying with us.
What is the first thing you will do after the emergency is lifted?
I will go for a ice cream and walk with my son on the streets of Smederevo. Glosa Due to the nature of the business, it happens that I’m preoccupied with phone calls and emails during the whole day, but it’s not uncommon that my son attends online meetings.
