Banca Intesa, a member of the international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management to participate in the implementation of the state-subsidized agricultural lending program for 2023.
Loans with subsidized interest are granted in dinars, with a fixed interest rate of up to three percent per annum, and are intended for individuals – registered agricultural households, entrepreneurs, legal entities, and agricultural cooperatives – for the purchase of working capital and basic assets and investment in agricultural machinery and equipment. Loans are available in a maximum amount of six million dinars for individuals and 18 million dinars for legal entities, with a repayment period of up to 60 months, depending on the purpose, and the possibility of using a grace period of up to 24 months.
“As a traditional partner of the state in providing support for the development of the agricultural sector, Banca Intesa is participating again this year in the implementation of the subsidized lending program for agricultural producers. This program represents a very important part of our offer and the overall support we provide to our clients, as confirmed by the fact that we approved 1.33 billion dinars of subsidized loans last year, which puts us at the top of the market in terms of participation in its implementation. Our intention is to be one of the most active banks in this area again this year, providing clients with access to extremely favorable financing conditions to maintain business stability and improve production,” said Maja Andonov, Head of the Small Business Department at Banca Intesa.
Banca Intesa is one of the leading lenders in the agricultural sector, which it has been supporting since 2008. Thanks to innovative products and improved processes, the bank supported registered agricultural households with loans worth a total of 60.6 million euros during 2022, achieving growth in new loans of 33 percent compared to the previous year.
