Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević received the Ambassador of France H E Christine Moro with whom he talked about several topics, among which stand out those related to the European Capital of culture and cooperation with cultural institutions and the Embassy of France. This was the third time that the French ambassador was in Novi Sad, said Vučević pointing out that this most eloquently testifies to the continuous dialogue.
“In recent days there was a meeting of the Foundation “Novi Sad 2021” and the French Institute in Serbia, where they discussed concrete models of cooperation and hosting artists from France in 2017. The topic of discussion were the relations of Novi Sad and the Department of Valdoise or three Paris municipality with which Novi Sad has achieved the level of cooperation, the aim of the twinning of our city and Valdoise” said Vučević adding that they discussed the situation of investors from France who operate in Novi Sad and its surroundings, such as the bank “Credit Agricole” the company “Lafarge”. French Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the visit to Novi Sad, and as one of the reasons cited is the manifestation of “The Month of Francophony”. “French cultural institutions, and embassies of francophone countries want to actively participate in the activities being undertaken in the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2021 and Youth Capital of Europe in 2019. Novi Sad and Vojvodina are angaged on modernisation of culture and youth programmes and we want to keep pace with them this way” said Moro. After the meeting with the Mayor Vučević and the Ambassador of France visited the Grammar school “Jovan Jovanović Zmaj” included in the program of the event “The Month of Francophony” and one of the primary schools in Novi Sad, in which students learn French.
