Miljan Suknović Opened Exhibition Last Night in New York

Miljan Suknović’s large-format paintings were presented last night in the Fridrih Ponton gallery (www.friedrichspontone.com)

During the opening ceremony, New Yorkers had the opportunity to meet and talk with the artist. Numerous dignitaries, members of the DAAD Alumni Association, of which our artist Miljan Suknović is a prominent member, contributed to the good atmosphere.

As a student at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts, Suknović built numerous contacts on the German art scene, and he continued to nurture these acquaintances even after moving to the USA, and that’s how the idea of ​​holding an exhibition with the support of the American Alumni Association of the German Academic Exchange Service came about. (DAAD) and the German-American Chamber of Commerce of New York.

Suknović has been present on the New York art scene for seventeen years, and his studio in the Tribeca neighborhood is one of the more interesting places to visit in this part of Manhattan.

He has achieved prestigious exhibitions, of which the most recognizable to a wide audience are those held at the World Trade Center and at the John F. Kennedy Airport, when, in addition to large-format paintings, painting installations were also presented.

It is better known to the domestic audience for the exhibition organized in the premises of the Permanent Mission of Serbia to the UN.

In mid-May, Suknović also presented his works through the Art and Interior project when he presented exciting new painting installations in a new condominium on the Lower East Side in New York. The project was realized in cooperation with Jenny Ma from the Corcoran Company.

The exhibition in the Friedrich Ponton gallery will be open to visitors until the end of June.
