The U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade, Anthony Godfrey, and his wife, Anne, bought two exceptional-quality kilims from hard-working women gathered in Ethno Network. They also set a good example of responsible buying, by supporting small producers to overcome the consequences of the pandemic.
“The Godfrey family are great advocates of heritage preservation and economic empowerment of women, and Mrs. Godfrey has participated in our colonies several times, learning the secrets of the weaving craft, side by side with the most skilled weavers,” said Violeta Jovanović, president of the Ethno Network and Executive Director of NALED.
