The third Balkan Balkan Architectural Biennale (BAB) will be held from 18th till 24th December at the Yugoslav Film Archive in Uzun Mirkova Street.
BAB is a platform in the field of architectural and urban theory, practice and production and is an example of the professional cooperation of regional architectural associations and intellectuals in the Balkans. The idea of BAB was created from the need for interconnection within the region and the exchange of experiences and ideas in the field of architecture. The primary function of BAB is to popularize the architectural profession in a wider and professional public among the countries in the region for the purpose of linking them. The aim is to increase the quality of architectural and urban activities in the Balkans and the wider region over time.
This year’s theme of BAB is “Balkan patterns in urbanism and architecture”, which, alongside the moto “Balkan without Borders”, tries to discuss and reflect on the current forms of life and creation of both physical and social architecture in the territory of the Balkans in order to strengthen the architectural and urban activities. BAB 2017 consists of three parts: architectural and urban design and exhibition, scientific conference and investment fair.
The official opening of the Balkan Architectural Biennial is scheduled for Monday, 18th December, starting at 19:00 in the Yugoslav Film Archive.
