After the announcement of the launch of the “Look Around Yourself” environmental campaign, initiated by the Ministry of European Integration and the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, action spoke louder than words.
The Sava Quay was cleaned thanks to the “Trash Challenge” campaign and the staff from the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, representatives of the embassies of the EU member states and volunteers.
By joining forces, they cleaned up a part of the Sava Quay, i.e. the promenade and the coast of the Sava River behind Blocks 45 and 70, despite the extremely hot weather. Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, H.E. Sem Fabrizi, the Finnish Ambassador, H.E. Kimmo Lähdevirta, the Danish Ambassador, H.E. Anders Christian Hougård, the Austrian Ambassador, H.E. Nikolaus Lutterotti, the representatives of the European Commission from Brussels, and the representatives of Greece, Sweden, Spain, France and Germany all took part in the cleanup.
Over the past 19 years, the European Union has donated 402 million euro to the environmental sector, enabling a better and healthier life for people.
