The Rakita Exploration Company has begun exploration mining works on the construction of a low pit, as part of the geological exploration of copper and gold reserves in the hydroelectric system Čukaru Peki in Bor.

Ambassador of Canada Kati Csaba, representatives of Bor Municipality and Nevsun and Rakita companies attended the ceremony held on June 4th in Bor. The project of the foundry of copper and gold of the world class Čukaru Peki is of exceptional value for Serbia and represents a significant economic potential both locally and nationally. Nevsun Resources is a Canadian company engaged in the processing of heavy metals, and operates in Serbia through its subsidiary The Rakita Exploration d.o.o. In March 2018, the company Rakita completed the Pre-Feasibility Study for the Čukaru Peki project, and it is planned that the Feasibility Study be completed by mid-2019.
