Opening ceremony of the „Days of Slovak Culture in Serbia“ and the opening of the „Exhibition of Art Glass by Ján Zoričák“ on September 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the ULUS Gallery in Belgrade.
Ján Zoričák (born 13.11.1944 in Ždiar, Slovakia) belongs to the leading representatives of contemporary art glass on an european and world scale. He was studying from 1959 – 1963 at Glass and Applied Arts College in Železný Brod in Czech Republic and from 1963 – 1969 at University of Applied arts in Prag (department of glass). From 1970 he has been living and working in Talloires in France. He has exhibited his work at different international exhibitions of contemporary art glass. He is also an establisher of international glass centre. He is the holder of many international awards (1983, “Vicointer“, Prix d Honneur, Valencia, 1985 „World Glass Now“, Grand Prix Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, 1987 Chevalier de l Ordre des Arts et Lettres, 1990 Gold medal at International Exhibition of Glass, Kanazawa, 1995 Prize of honour at International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa, 1998 The Kyohei Fujita Prize, Kanazawa and many more).
