Representatives of Serbia and Belarus signed seven agreements and memoranda of cooperation in several fields at the Palace of Serbia today, in the presence of the two countries’ presidents, Aleksandar Vučić and Alexander Lukashenko.
The extradition agreement between the accused and sentenced persons between Serbia and Belarus was signed by justice ministers Nela Kuburović and Oleg Slyzevsky.
The document implies an obligation on both countries to extradite each other to their territory for the purpose of prosecuting or executing a judgment.
The agreement on scientific and technological cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was signed by Minister Mladen Šarcević and President of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov.
The two sides agreed to develop and strengthen technology cooperation by sharing information on science and technology, joint projects and the like.
The programme of cooperation between the governments of Serbia and Belarus in the field of education until 2020, signed by Minister Šarcević and Minister of Education of Belarus Igor Karpenko, provides for an annual exchange of students of undergraduate, master and doctoral studies.
The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of innovation and development of digital technologies was signed by Minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic and President of the State Committee for Science and Technology Alexander Shumilin.
The agreement on cooperation between the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Academy of Sciences of Belarus was signed by Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts President Vladimir Kostic and President of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences Vladimir Gusakov.
Joint research is envisaged in the fields of energy, agro-industrial technologies, medicine, pharmacy, chemical technologies, communications and others.
Also, two agreements have been signed between the Postal Savings Bank and Belarus Bank on opening correspondent accounts.
