Dragan Ambrozić, music critic, is this year’s winner of the “Tanja Petrović” Foundation’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Affirmation of Culture and Art in the Media, which will be presented on Wednesday, February 28, at 12 noon, at the Yugoslav Cinematheque.
Ambrozić started his career in 1986, when he started publishing texts and music reviews in “Student”, continued in “Rock”, “Beorama”, “NON”, “Mladost”, “Stava”, then in ” Ritmu” where he was the chief editor and publisher. He published about four thousand texts about popular music and pop-cultural phenomena. Today, we read him in the weekly “Vreme” and follow his work in the Youth Center of Belgrade, where he is the program editor and music editor, in charge of numerous events, from the Belgrade Jazz Festival to rock concerts and tribunes. Dragan Ambrozić managed to combine passion and knowledge, alternative and mainstream, immediate engagement and reflection on music and pop culture.
The foundation was founded in memory of the prematurely deceased Tanja Petrović who, as an author, journalist and editor, devoted her professional life to promoting culture and art in the media, working in culture editorial offices, publishing houses and as the city secretary for culture.
Previous laureates of the Award are journalist, film and literary critic Milan Vlajčić, cult radio author Žikica Simić, editor and author of the show “Trezor” Bojana Andrić, journalist, rock critic and publicist Peca Popović, theater critic, theater critic, artistic director of Bitef, Ivan Medenica , journalist and columnist Teofil Pančić, culture portal “Seecult”, art historian and photographer Goranka Matić, director and creative director Boris Miljković and journalist, musician and writer Branko Rosić.
The founders of the “Tanja Petrović” Foundation are Antonela Riha, Borut Vild, Vojka Pajkić Đorđević, Katarina Španić Ostojić, Olivera Milošević, Srdan Golubović, Tamara Pupovac and Jelica Greganović.
