A record number of songs for the Serbian entry to the Eurovision Song Contest – Serbia chooses in March!
After a record number of songs that were submitted to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) has selected 36 songs that will participate in the national selection. Serbia will choose the Serbian entry for Eurovision and the Song for Eurovision 22 Festival that will take place in Turin, at two semifinals on March 3 and 4, and a grand final – on March 5.
The competition for the Serbian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 ended on December 1, and on December 17, the selection committee voted for the songs that had been submitted to the RTS electronically.
Out of over 150 compositions, the selection committee, which consisted of RTS music editors, listened to all the submitted songs and selected the following songs to compete for the Serbian representative at Eurovision:

In the coming days, there will be a talk with songwriters about further activities related to the festival, all under the condition that the epidemiological situation in the country allows it. RTS has the right to choose another song or performer in case problems arise in regard to a certain song or performer.
To remind, in line with the competition rules, the song must last no longer than three minutes, it must be performed in the languages that are in official use in the Republic of Serbia, and the performers must not be under 16 years of age.
The winner of the Song for Eurovision 22 Festival will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest which will be held this year in Turin, Italy. Thanks to their victory in Rotterdam, Måneskin brought the Eurovision Song Contest to Italy after a little over three decades.
Competitors from 41 countries will perform in Turin
Competitors from 41 countries will take part in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest. According to the announcement of the European Broadcasting Union, in addition to the 39 countries that performed in Rotterdam in 2021, Armenia and Montenegro have confirmed their participation in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Italian television RAI is in charge of staging this spectacle at the Pala Olimpico hall that will be watched by almost 200 million viewers across the planet.
The executive producer of the competition, Simona Martorelli, as well as the representative of the public broadcaster RAI, Claudio Fasulo, said: “After 31 years, Italy is proud to host Eurovision again! As executive producers, we are incredibly excited to organize this amazing event and welcome delegations from 41 countries to Turin next year. Above all, we firmly believe that Eurovision will allow us to show and share the beauty of Italy with a global audience through the elements that unite us – music and harmony. “
The semifinals of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be held on May 10 and 12, and the grand final on May 14 in Turin.
