The President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić received today on a farewell visit the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, Dagmar Repchekova, and thanked her for her outstanding contribution to the strengthening of Serbian-Slovak relations and the respect she showed for Serbia during her stay in Belgrade.
“The friendship and brotherhood of Serbs and Slovaks have not only been affirmed but thanks to the work of Ambassador Repchekova, they have been enhanced,” said President Vučić.
He said that Ambassador Repchekova with her “cake diplomacy” leaves a special mark in the history of diplomatic corps accredited in Serbia as the most original ambassador because she never came to the meeting without presenting the famous “Doboš cake”.
President Vučić expressed his gratitude to friendly Slovakia for its principled position to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as for its strong support on the European path. He reiterated that Serbia remains a sincere friend and reliable partner of Slovakia and hopes that the good political relations of the two countries will be accompanied by even better economic ties, as well as cooperation in all other areas. President Vučić also emphasised the need for stronger cooperation with the Višegrad Group, whose summit he recently attended, when Slovak President Čaputová and other V4 Heads of State-supported Serbia’s European integration. He asked Ambassador Repchekova to send an invitation to the Slovak President to visit Serbia.
President Vučić added that the Slovaks, who live in Vojvodina i.e. Serbia, represent a bridge between the two countries and that we can do a lot more for them and their position.
