All citizens of Serbia will be able to report harmful, inappropriate content on the Internet, thanks to IT project that will unite the work of all relevant institutions across the contact centre for incident management and support for information security and the safety of children on the Internet, implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and telecommunications in cooperation with Asseco SEE, one of the largest IT companies in Europe.
“The contact centre will enable parents, teachers, and all other citizens as well as the children, when they suspect that the safety or rights of the child on the Internet threatened, and to report such use or suspicion.” said Tatjana Matić, state Secretary at the Ministry of trade, tourism and telecommunications. “The fact that 80% of children in Serbia have a profile on social networks, that children begin to use the Internet very early age and that parents rarely monitor the online activities of their children, speaks volumes about the need to improve the safety of children on the Internet,” said Igor Brnabić, a member of the Board of directors of Asseco SEE.
