The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojković met today with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Moon Hee-sang, whom she thanked for the participation of the Korean delegation in the 141st IPU Assembly.
The two parliament speakers noted that the traditionally good and friendly bilateral relations between the two countries will be marking their 30th anniversary this year.
Gojković said that economic cooperation and Korean companies’ investments in Serbia are very important for the country, as is cooperation in the fields of IT technologies, youth and sport.
The Korean Parliament Speaker said that the relations between the two countries are very positive in the spheres of political, economic and cultural relations and that they are ready to share experiences in the areas of e-governance, digitalization, customs systems, environmental issues and education.
Speaking of Kosovo-Metohija, Moon said that his country believes that problems should be resolved through dialogue and when it comes to international organizations, the Republic of Korea will not vote in favour of “Kosovo” joining INTERPOL.
Gojković thanked him for the support of Serbia’s efforts to resolve the problems with Pristina through dialogue and come to a compromise solution.
Gojković agreed that the two countries have lately been developing very good relations and dynamic dialogue, as well good economic cooperation. Moon Hee-sang invited the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to visit South Korea, which Gojković accepted, saying it would be an excellent opportunity to develop and further parliamentary relations.
