Morocco Celebrates 81st Anniversary of Independence Manifesto

The Manifesto of 11 January 1944 is a Moroccan proclamation of a Declaration of Independence. As soon as it was widely disseminated, it contributed to a strong momentum of acceptance in Moroccan public opinion.

It is a crucial step that marks almost a century of history. This historic document, engraved in the collective memory of Moroccans is a vibrant symbol of the combative spirit of past generations and an example of the renewed identity of Moroccan youth and future generations.

The adhesion of the main nationalist leaders, from various horizons, around this Independence Manifesto, has established an original political movement, representative of the diversity of Moroccan society, encompassing all its components, whether urban or rural. They all joined forces to present their claims to Sultan Mohammed ben Youssef (Mohammed V), thus affirming their collective determination to achieve national independence.

These men have left an indelible mark on the collective memory of Morocco, symbolizing the bravery and determination of the Moroccan people in their quest for freedom and independence.

Morocco of today, which is celebrating the 81st anniversary of the Independence Manifesto this year, continues to flourish under the farsighted reign of King Mohammed VI whose communion between the Throne and the people is the key to its success and prosperity.
