This year’s Mostar Peace Connection Award went to N1 Editorial Board Chairman Brent Sadler, who reported from that Bosnia-Herzegovina city for CNN during the war of the 1990s.
The award is presented by the Centre for Peace and Multi-Ethnic Cooperation to prominent individuals for their contributions to peace and the establishing of trust and cooperation among people. Earlier recipients include Nelson Mandela, Vaclav Havel and Alois Mock.
“I can say with great pleasure that Brent Sadler was not just a CNN war reporter from Mostar but is also a great humanist,” Centre for Peace and Multi-Ethnic Cooperation President Alija Behram said.
The Centre is also organizing its traditional event titled Mostar Does Not Forget Friends which will be attended by the prime ministers of Montenegro, Greece and Macedonia among others. Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic and his Greek counterpart Alexis Cipras will sign the Mostar Charter which Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev signed last year.
