In Sremska Mitrovica a presentation of the newly adopted “Rulebook on Small Quantities of Primary Products for Supplying Consumers, Area for Carrying Out these Activities as well as Variations Relating to Small Entities in the Operation of Food of Animal Origin” was held, which will apply from January 1, 2018.
The Rulebook, together with the published Guidelines for its implementation, is one of the results of the project “Improving the quality and safety of food in the meat production sector in Serbia”, implemented by theUN FAO and EBRD in cooperation with the local partner Agrikultura. Within this project, the adoption of the national label “Serbian Quality” was also initiated to mark products from domestic raw materials and higher quality. “Small and traditional meat and milk producers in Serbia will be able to enter the market in a completely safe and legal way from next year, whether it be the sale of goods from the home threshold, local markets and the markets of the whole country, thanks to the newly adopted Rulebook”, said Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimović.
