In the spirit of support to those most in need, Direct Media organized a humanitarian tournament in the basket for partners at the end of the year and allocated funds for the prize pool of the tournament allocated to the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR).
The amount of ten thousand euros that Direct Media has allocated to Nurdor together with the winner of the tournament, Mercator S, will be used for the purchase of a diagnostic device for the department of hemato-oncology at the Institute for Health Protection of Mother and Child “Dr Vukan Cupic”.
“This year, the National Association of Parents of Children with Chronic Nurbor cancer, marks 15 years of existence, and our mission is to provide the best possible conditions for the treatment of children. We are succeeding in this by thanks to numerous friends such as Direct Media, which has been with us for many years, and which helped build the Hemato-oncology department in Niš, and every year allows the celebration of the World Day of Children with Cancer in the Republic Square. Direct Media thanks for this human gesture “- said Marija Djurovic, member of the Board of Directors of NURDOR.
There were 16 teams participating in the tournament who showed great basketball skills: Adria Media Group, Beiersdorf, Color Press Group, Hellenic petroleum, Ipsos, Mercator S, Nielsen Audience Measurement Serbia, Real Group RGS, Ringier Axel Springer – Media Impact, SBB Plus Research, Strauss Adriatic and Tehnomanija.
“Thank you to our partners and their teams who responded to the tournament in this number. We are pleased that with such activities we promote our common values that are similar to those in sports, which are fair play and team spirit. I have to admit that a good basketball was played today, but what makes this association special is the humanitarian character of the tournament, which is another value we share with our partners. We have been cooperating with Nurdo for years in creating communication campaigns and we are pleased that this year we have helped not only the pro bono service, but also the money donation. For all the kids who are fighting and we hope that victory will be ahead, said Jovan Stojanovic, Chief Operating Officer Direct Media.
The charity tournament in the basket was the central event of the Sports Day of Direct Media, which marked all-day sports and recreational activities for employees.
