Online panel “Gender Perspective from the Employer’s Point of View” organized by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, the Belgian-Serbian Business Association, Hellenic Business Association of Serbia and Croatian Business Club, was held on October 27, 2020.
This panel discussion was convened with the aim of initiating a dialogue on the gender perspective from the employer’s point of view as well as on the achieving a work-life balance and was organized as part of the project “Strengthening gender equality in Serbia” implemented by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation and The Center for Democracy Foundation and funded by Balkan Trust for Democracy and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
Hugo Van Veghel, President of the Belgian-Serbian Business Association and Director of TARA International Consulting Ltd, presented examples of good practice and gender equality from an employer perspective.
Professor Dr. Bojan Urdarević presented two handbooks on reconciling work and family life – one on the labor rights of the employees and one on the rights of the employers, with the aim of finding a solution that gives the best results for both employers and employees.
Part of the panel was dedicated to the topic of sexual harassment at the workplace. Jelena Vulić, psychotherapist, trainer, and coach for personal and business skills development and Ljubica Radović, a labor lawyer gave practical guidance on how to identify and prevent sexual harassment at workplace.
More than 35 participants had the opportunity to participate in a constructive discussion following the formal part of the panel, which was a step towards a continuous dialogue within the business community on the important topics, which, unfortunately, are still not openly discussed enough.
