Opening of the Contemporary Art Festival Danube Dialogues 2024

The opening of this year’s international contemporary art festival Danube Dialogues will be held on August 26 at 8 pm in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina

The exhibitions last until September 8, and on the second day of the festival, August 27, a rich accompanying program and the PerformaNS event will be held.

The festival will be officially opened with the exhibition About (auto)destruction and against it, which is also the central exhibition at this year’s festival. Within the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to see the works of 18 artists from 12 different countries, while the exhibition will be opened by theater director Andraš Urban.

Danube Dialogues is an international multimedia festival of contemporary art launched in 2013, which takes place simultaneously in galleries and alternative spaces in Novi Sad. This year, 38 artists and 7 curators from 19 countries are participating in the festival. The program includes exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, installations, projections of video works, performances and round tables at 7 locations in the city.

The special feature of the festival is a series of exhibitions in which the works of one domestic artist and one artist from a selected country are placed in a kind of dialogic relationship.
