Queen Elizabeth II died on 8th September 2022 late afternoon at age 96.
She was the queen of the United Kingdom and 14 sovereign countries with the longest service as the monarch in British history. The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926.
Her family gathered today at Balmoral, near Aberdeen, at the queen’s Scottish estate amid concerns for Queen’s health. Around 7 PM, Buckingham Palace oficially said that Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.
