An official reception on the occasion of Victory Day over fascism was held on May 8th in the Embassy of Russia in Belgrade, Russian Ambassador Alexander Chepurin said that May 9th is a great and joint holiday for the Russians and Serbs and the greatest victory in the history of mankind.
Chepurin said that on the holy holiday, the Day of Victory, we remember that the Russian and Serbian people went through the most difficult temptations in the first battle line, to endure and win: “The Second World War has become history, but the bright memories of its immortal heroes, their courage and nobility will not extinguish in our hearts. ” He recalled that in October this year the 75th anniversary of the release of Soviet and Yugoslav soldiers would be celebrated in Belgrade, and this event, according to Čepurin, was a special stage on the road to “great victory.” The ambassador thanked everyone who will participate tomorrow in the work of the “Immortal Regiment” in ten cities in Serbia and those who have enabled the event to be held.
The minute of silence began in the Second World War in the fight against fascism, and the Moscow Cadet Music Corps performed the anthem of Russia and Serbia and Russian and Serbian wars from the war.
The ceremony was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic, Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Justice Nela Kuburovic, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic, Minister of Innovation Nenad Popovic, Minister of Environment Goran Trivan, Director of BIA Bratislav Gasic, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal Assembly of Russia Konstantin Kosachev.
