It is important to adopt a culture of responsible consumption
Serbian Chamber of Commerce and The Serbian Brewing Association, which includes the 3 largest companies on the Serbian market, today announced the start of the campaign “Responsible and careful – we take care of ourselves and others” at a formal event at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce “. In the next stages, the support of health institutions follows.
This campaign aims to educate the young population and consumers on a long-term level about the importance of adopting a culture of responsible consumption of beer products.
In 2023, the campaign will include the education of experts – psychologists, general practitioners, and experts of various profiles, who in the next stages of the campaign will comprehensively work with the young population and consumers in the form of public events, forums in student dormitories and the like.
At today’s event, the media and the public were addressed by Miroslav Lutovac, advisor to the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce; prof. Dr. Jelena Pejin from the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad and Nada Filipović, director of the Serbian Brewing Association.
Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Brewers’ Group traditionally cooperate with the Association of Brewers of Serbia on numerous projects of interest to the brewing industry and thereby help brewers to jointly create an affirmative business environment. On this occasion, Miroslav Lutovac, advisor to the president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, said: “Developing socially responsible campaigns that raise awareness of the adoption of a culture of responsible consumption is of vital importance for our society. Not only do they promote the well-being of individuals, but they also contribute to general health and safety, first of all for the young population, for whom this campaign is intended, but also for all citizens of Serbia.”
The professor from the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad, Dr. Jelena Pejin, spoke about the characteristics of beer that make the difference between beer brands and other drinks. “Beer’s popularity stems from its pleasant sensory properties and favorable nutritional properties if consumed in moderate quantities. Reducing the ethanol content is a very important goal in beer technology today. Alcohol-free beers have the beneficial effect of all the healthy components of beer, with the complete absence of negative ethanol consumption. These beers are gaining more and more in their importance.”
Nada Filipović, director of the Association of Brewers of Serbia, pointed out: “Just as we celebrate the business successes of the member companies of the Association of Brewers of Serbia, namely Heineken, Molson Coors (Apatinska brewery), Carlsberg and Sladara Souflet, we prioritize communication with our consumers about the importance of responsible consumption. Today, more than ever, the awareness of the importance of adopting a responsible and healthier lifestyle is growing. Our industry has responded to the challenge by offering a diverse range of brewing industry products in search of that balance. As leaders in our industry, we understand our role in advocating for education and encouraging our fellow citizens to make responsible and informed decisions.”
