The 6th Belgrade Irish Festival (BIF) takes place from 9th to the 18th of March under the slogan «Springttime In Belgrade!», showcasing Irish and Serbian cultural events throughout the centre of Belgrade.
The Festival program is inspired by the European Year of Cultural Heritage (2018), showcasing the latest Irish movies and documentaries, a Serbia-Ireland lecture series, exibitions, live music, theatre plays, workshops and other activities, including food and social events.

The Festival will feature a preformance from one of the most notable Irish singer songwriters, Mundy, who’s albums have had platinum circulations in Ireland and many very popular songs. The single „To you I Bestow“ from his early career was recorded and used by film director Buz Luhrmann in his hit film „Romeo and Juliet“.
Other events incluse a comemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI with lectures on the 10th Irish Division, who fought alongside Serbian forces at the Salonika Front and Flora Sands; with visiting Irish lecturers from University College Dublin and academics from Serbia. Irish Film Week will showcase latest Irish movies and documentaries, among others, a documentary „Talking to my Father“ by architect Simon Walker about his father, a leading Irish modernist architect – Robin Walker; as well as „Medicated Milk“ by director Aine Stapleton, a movie about Lucia Joyce, dancer and daughter of Irish writer James Joyce.
A photography exhibition „Borderlands“ by Irish photographer Nigel Swann, will take place alongs with photography competitions, and workshops.
Once again, Belgrade, will go green on St Patrick’s day thanks to the City of Belgrade, joining up with cities around the globe, celebrating St. Patrick, with illuminations of several significant structures throughout Belgrade.

Belgrade Irish Fest is organized by an Irish journalist in Serbia Jas Kaminski with the help of institutions and partners: The Embassy of Republic of Ireland in Athens, Irish Honorary Consulate (Serbia), Irish film institute, Culture Ireland, European Union delegation, EU info center, Belgrade City, CRH, BPI, Agri Business Partner, Comtrade, Jameson, Guinness, the Tourist board of Belgrade, Yugoslavian Kinotechue and other cultural institutions and partners without which sustention of Belgrade Irish Fest would not be possible.
