Focusing on customer needs, reducing capital expenditures and redefining operations in all segments resulted in stable revenue growth for Vip mobile in 2020. In spite of a significant loss of roaming revenue and negative foreign exchange effects, the A1 Telekom Austria Group, of which Vip is a part, has emerged to operate stably.
A1 Telekom Austria Group generated total revenue of EUR 4.55 billion and recorded a 5.1% increase in the number of customers in almost all markets. In 2021, the Group will remain committed to a growth strategy through its core business, increasing revenue and developing advanced technological solutions and potential growth through acquisitions.
Despite the competitive environment, Vip mobile recorded total revenue of 286.2 million euros, which is 0.8% more than in 2019, as well as a slight increase in the number of users, by 1.7%. In a year marked by a record increase in internet consumption via the mobile network (approximately 50%), the drivers of revenue growth were the postpaid and FMS segments, while M2M (machine to machine) and Cloud solutions were the main drivers of the ICT segment. As expected, the biggest decline was recorded in the field of roaming and prepaid.
Access to the latest technology and expertise of the A1 Telekom Austria Group, as well as the faster implementation of certain services on the market, contributed to the achievement of these results.
