The new investment includes industrial building and a new production line that will almost double our annual capacity.
What challenges have you faced this year?
The current year has been exceptionally good for Alumil YU and for the whole Alumil Group in general. Specifically in Serbia this year we are experiencing a continuous growth of the value of construction projects that started in 2019, where the value of the projects was increased by 35% compared to 2018 and continued in 2020 and in 2021. However growth, the market is becoming increasingly demanding, while competition is ever stronger and that is one of the major challenges for Alumil YU. New demands are born every day. Modern buildings require the design and construction of fenestration systems with high standards. By focusing always on the specifications and the requirements of the most advanced markets worldwide, ALUMIL has created a product portfolio which incorporates innovative products and responds perfectly to modern building needs.
“Almost 70% of our production is exported to European industrial markets”

During the pandemic, the company succeeded in continuing to implement its investment plan. What are your immediate plans, as well as for the rest of the year?
Indeed during the pandemic crisis, we managed not only to sustain but even to increase significantly our manpower, maintain our pace in exports to Western European markets and increase our market share in large scale projects of the domestic market. This year Alumil YU is focused on improving its technical services to its esteem customers and penetrate further to existing markets by continually investing on the development of its people, systems and products in order to ensure that they meet the specifications and requirements of the most advanced markets worldwide.
Are you going to expand to the region, considering that you are the biggest company for the production of aluminium extrusions in Southeast Europe?
Though initially our plans have been slowed down due to the COVID-19 situation we still remain decisive on investing more in Serbia in order to penetrate further through the support of Alumil YU to the regional ex Yugoslavian markets and not only and increase our market share and footprint in large scale projects, of both public and private sectors. Our plans also include the penetration to Western European industrial markets, such as automotive, with sophisticated, state-of-the-art, precision-engineered, surfaced treated, ready to use aluminium products. Our expansion plan can be translated in up to 100 new direct job positions, many of which with highly educated, specially trained staff.
