Telenor has marked the first decade of its operations in Serbia and representatives of the state institutions, economic sector, as well as many celebrities attended the celebration on this occasion.

Today, ten years later, our vision is full digitalization of the society and creating new solutions that would simplify lives of our customers. In parallel with 4G rollout, we just tested 5G technology, as a sign of constant desire to be leaders in providing innovative digital solutions, not only for our customers, but for the society as well”, said Ingeborg Øfsthus, CEO of Telenor Serbia.
Telenor is the largest single investor in Serbia, and during ten years of its operations it invested over EUR 445 million in the development of infrastructure and services. In the past two years, Telenor has covered the entire Serbia with fast mobile internet and its customers were the first to experience all the benefits of 4G network. The coverage map is rapidly expanding and by the end of the year, 50 percent of the Serbia’s inhabitants will be covered by 4G signal.
The company introduced digital services to the market and in 2014 opened Telenor banka, the first online bank in the region, with over 200,000 customers today.
Since its arrival to the Serbian market, the company has been striving to be a responsible and reliable partner of the society it operates in. So, in 2007, it started Telenor Foundation. A number of projects have been implemented with over 350 partners, such as Telecentre, the first online and video service for interpretation into the sign language. Also, within the project “Enable”, 140,000 Roma got the official documents for the first time and 30,000 children were vaccinated. Together with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Telenor is working on building a safe environment for children and the young on Internet.
