Projects “IsoBillboard”, “Zoundark” and “Dok stream” were announced for the winners of the biggest competition for youth on social entrepreneurship “Social Impact Award”, held last night in Kombank Hall as part of the all-day event ” companies: encouraging employment of young people through social entrepreneurship “. The audience award was won by the team of the project “Eco Plastic Homes”, while the online community award went to the “Safe Road” project.
“IsoBillboard” is an ecological project of young people from Niš, which foresees that numerous posters on the walls of cities throughout Serbia serve as thermal insulation materials for houses without facades, instead of becoming waste.
The audio game “Zoundark”, a team from Belgrade, shows the problems of people with visual impairment to the general public, creating a simulation of the daily problems of the blind scientist Polo, who on his way reveals an interesting world accessible only to people with visual impairment.
The employment of young people leaving the correctional homes is the goal of the project “Dok Tok” from Belgrade, which will launch a social enterprise within which those who leave educational institutions will produce voice congratulations, invitations and promotional materials. The idea was created as a result of many years of work with this population, which showed that the inability to hire is the greatest risk factor that the young returns to the “bad way”.
Kragujevac’s “Eco Plastic Homes” is a project for the production of building materials caused by pressing plastic waste and sand into blocks and other forms, which gives a recycled product cheaper and higher quality than standard building materials, which is also more accessible to housing uninhabited categories of population. The “Safe Road” team from Nis has designed an automated system that makes the crossing of vehicles and pedestrians through railways safer. They plan to hire people with disabilities and thus further improve their lives in the local community.
“Social Impact Award” is the biggest project devoted to young people on the subject of social entrepreneurship, whose mission is to promote social entrepreneurship among young people through education, incubation of ideas and competition.
The “Social Enterprise Day” was organized by the German Development Cooperation “Encouraging Youth Employment”, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia and Smart Kolektiva, and the partners of the conference are Reflector Theater and Social Impact Award Serbia, while the event was facilitated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the German-Serbian Initiative for Sustainable Growth and Employment.
