The citizens of Bela Palanka and Dimitrovgrad, the two best placed municipalities in the “Take a bill and win” prize competition, decided to invest the winning prizes in improving the tourist offer of southeastern Serbia.
In Bela Palanka, the money will be used for arranging the Remisiana archaeological site, which means reconstruction of the square with the fountain and monument to Septimius Severus, while residents of Dimitrovgrad voted to reconstruct the centre in the city center for the Tourist Information Centre. The prize checks of 20,000 euros were handed over today to them by Minister of State Administration and Local Government Branko Ružić and NALED Executive Director Violeta Jovanović. “From the municipalities of Bela Palanka and Dimitrovgrad, more than 20 fiscal accounts and slipsters were sent per inhabitant, which significantly contributed to the struggle against the grey economy, and for such a result there was a reward. The Pirot district has shown that it takes care of fiscal discipline. Only in the first quarter, the number of complaints about non-issue of bills increased by 47%, which enough speaks that every day citizens understand more why they need to be socially responsible “- said Ružić.
