In early March, Belgrade Mayor Zoran Radojičić and members of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce planted 329 trees near the Belgrade Fair as part of the Tree for Belgrade campaign.
The campaign was launched following the initiative of the German Organization for International Cooperation and the City of Belgrade, and thanks to the response of 37 companies, members of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, 329 trees, spanning 10,000 square metres, were planted near the Belgrade Fair. On that occasion, Udo Eichlinger, President of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, said on the occasion that AHK members readily responded to the initiative of the City of Belgrade, namely that AHK Serbia spurred 37 companies to donate funds to the campaign. Frank Aletter, Director of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, expressed his gratitude to the members of AHK Serbia who participated in the Tree for Belgrade challenge and said that that was only a symbolic start of further campaigns focusing on sustainable development, energy efficiency, mobility and general improvement of the quality of life.
