The exhibition “Serbian Modernism 1880-1950 from the Collection of the Gallery of the Matica Srpska” was officially opened at the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana, and will be opened until May 3.
This exhibition was staged following the invitation of the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana, with the desire to present to the Slovenian public a part of the Serbian cultural heritage through the selection of artwork from one of the oldest and most eminent national institutions of the Republic of Serbia.
The exhibition includes 86 works of art – 75 paintings, 7 sculptures and 4 prints – and comprehensively illustrates Serbian fine art, its patterns, aspirations and reach from the last decades of the 19th century to the mid-20th century.
