Telenor Network has scored BEST IN TEST in the third independent Serbia Mobile Benchmarking conducted by international company UMLAUT during the time of crisis when traffic reached record heights. The categories tested were related to coverage, speed, and latency in data transmission, and Telenor Serbia won the highest results in all of them.
“We are very proud to receive the “Best in Test” award again, especially in these challenging times when volumes of voice and data traffic went beyond all records achieved so far. Being one of the vital resources keeping the country connected during this health crisis has been an enormous responsibility. But being in a position to help millions of people is also extremely rewarding. A stable and reliable network that has enough capacity to support growing traffic remains among our top priorities,” said Mike Michel, CEO Telenor Serbia.
UMLAUT (formerly P3) is a technology company that measures the quality of mobile networks in more than 120 countries around the world and uses a crowdsourcing methodology that measures the real user experience. The third measurement in Serbia included 55.6 million samples taken from 26,000 users and an area of 39,074 km2.
“Congratulations to Telenor Serbia. For the third time in two years Telenor has received the Best in Test Award for their mobile network with an overall score of 891 dots. On top, Telenor shows the best rated performance in all categories tested and shows the best-rated broadband coverage, best-rated user download speed and the best-rated latency in data transmission. Our Umlaut Mobile Benchmark is the de-facto industry standard, fairly and transparently assessing the global digital infrastructure,” said Hakan Ekmen, CEO UMLAUT.
Telenor Serbia has invested EUR 9.2 million in network infrastructure since the beginning of the year and upgraded more than 550 sites with additional layers and capacity to support the growing needs of the society.
“Our responsibility as a company in the epidemic conditions was a great motivation for our employees in Tech to make many improvements to the network in a relatively short time. These were to do with both quality and capacity. We are proud to have been a true and reliable partner for our customers and to have enabled them to be connected to their loved ones during the crisis. The result of this commitment by our technical team is a new award for the best network in Serbia and we are ranked among the 30 best networks in Europe,” said Saša Leković, Telenor CTO.
UMLAUT measures sets of network quality elements in more than 120 countries worldwide including Serbia. They have more than 20 years of experience in network testing and a unique holistic approach, adding crowdsourced methodology to their measurements. Based on the results, operators around the globe are able to improve their network performances.
