The strategic merger of two strong brands such as Acibadem and Bel Medic will bring global medicine closer to the people in Serbia and positively contribute to the Serbian economy
Following the signing of a contract, the integration of two large medical systems became official in Belgrade on July 16th. Turkey’s Acibadem, one of the largest hospital chains in the world, and Bel Medic, a reputable Serbian private hospital have merged. The contract was signed by the owners and founders of Bel Medic, Jasmina and Milan Knežević and the owner and founder of Acibadem, Mr Mehmet Ali Aydınlar.
Thus, Acibadem became the majority owner of Bel Medic, the leading private health institution in Serbia with a 26-year-long tradition. In the future, Bel Medic will operate under the name Acıbadem Bel Medic, while Dr Jasmina Knežević remains its co-owner and director-general.

The Acibadem Health Group operates under the world’s second-largest hospital chain, IHH. Dr Jasmina Knežević, founder and director-general of Bel Medic, expressed her satisfaction with Bel Medic becoming a partner to a chain of world-class hospitals.

We want to make medicine and Bel Medic a success story that will benefit both patients and Serbia,” said Dr Jasmina Knezevic after signing the contract and added that one of the plans was to further educate the staff at the Acibadem educational centre and faculty.
Acibadem’s owner and founder, Mehmet Ali Aydınla, said that that was an important move for everyone involved. He expressed confidence that health services in Serbia would be raised to a much higher level thanks to the synergy that would be created following the integration of Acibadem with Bel Medic.
“We worked hard to bring this story to life. The business will be managed by Ms Jasmina Knezevic, and we will help her improve Bel Medic to offer even better health services in Serbia. We want healthcare in Serbia to progress and I am happy that we are becoming partners,” Mr Aydınla underlined and added that Dr Jasmina Knežević would continue working on improving Bel Medic.
