A1 Serbia hosted an exclusive online conference called “A1 Talk” where local experts, the business community, academics and media had the opportunity to listen about various aspects of the ongoing digital age, along with changes and challenges that individuals, society and the whole world will face in the coming years. The audience had the opportunity to hear about numerous examples of new ways to use smart technologies and how this will redefine everyday life and business. The central topic of the conference was “Technology as a force for good”.
Near 1.000 invitees had the opportunity to listen to four speakers present their original visions of the future. Dejan Turk, Alejandro Plater, Nancy Giordano and Brian Solis agreed on one thing – the world as we know it will soon be completely different due to faster digitalization, numerous innovative approaches in different business segments and the accelerated development of smart technologies. From automation of production and transport, through artificial intelligence and virtual reality, all the way to fantastic telecommunication advances and acceleration of information flow through Cloud, 5G network and the Internet of Things, the audience was presented with a future that will be radically different than our present. Technological changes will cause positive social changes, better interactions between people and machines, improve the way we think, live and work.
Dejan Turk, CEO of A1 Serbia and A1 Slovenia – who also hosted the conference – pointed out that each individual has the power to make a change for the better. Combined with modern technology, that power can reshape our experiences. Turk also mentioned that technology is already making the world a better place and this will go on as long as we use technology as a force for good. He concluded that A1 will provide solid support to all its users during the digital transformation.
Alejandro Plater, Chief Operating Officer of A1 Telekom Austria Group, stated that we are living in a constantly evolving digital era and it’s both an exciting opportunity and a great responsibility to play an active part in it as an ICT company. “The world has never been more interconnected, not just people but also machines. After the introductory part and speeches by A1 representatives, world-famous speakers took the stage and shared their vision of the digital future.
Nancy Giordano, one of the leading futurologists and acclaimed author, believes we are yet to witness some real technological changes that enable both economic and cultural revolution. “The best is yet to come”, said Ms. Giordano, “This is just the tip of the iceberg and everything we have witnessed so far is merely 1% of all changes to come”. She believes humanity is at a turning point but on the right track. With the help of advanced technologies and new opportunities, we can all do our part in making the world a better place for future generations,
Brian Solis, a world-renowned futurist, digital analyst, anthropologist and author of several bestsellers, believes everything will change due to the rapid development of disruptive technologies, such as cloud systems, 5G networks, artificial intelligence and automation. “The future isn’t what it used to be,” said Mr. Solis, but he also believes this is a very good thing for the world and humanity. The world already forever changed in 2020 and now 2021 and beyond is a blank slate for reimagining the future of business work and everything else in life. Mr. Solis focused on the rapid acceleration of disruptive technologies such as cloud 5G AI automation along with the human impact of the global pandemic. “Regardless of what you think will happen tomorrow, we can all agree that humanity can achieve great things when people and their experiences are in the focus of change” Mr. Solis concluded.
